The Autism Europe Congress is a major international event held every three years, bringing together researchers, practitioners, policymakers, educators, autistic individuals and their families. This year’s edition took place in Dublin and featured a wide range of presentations, symposia and workshops focused on current research, inclusive practices, diagnostics, education, community participation and lived experience.
During the congress, a presentation was delivered on the EARLY-ASD project (@earlyasd17) — an initiative aimed at enhancing teachers’ competencies in working with young autistic children aged 3 to 7. The project emphasizes the use of digital social stories as a tool to support communication, emotional regulation and social understanding in early childhood educational settings. The approach reflects current trends toward neuroaffirmative, developmentally sensitive and technology-supported practices in autism education.
